Non UK Online Casinos
The UK online casino market features a small number of online casinos compared to the enormous US industry.
However, many players from the UK do not even consider playing at a casino where the wagering is done in $US. Questions and complications immediately spring to mind: how would I deposit $US? How would I receive my winnings? How could I bank the winnings?
The answer to the above concerns is that everything about playing at a $US casino is really as simple as a £ UK casino. The procedure is as simple as this:
1. Join the USA online casino in the same way you would a UK online casino. Deposit using your credit card, PayPal, FirePay, etc. as you would a UK casino. For more details about depositing and getting paid, see our pages Deposit Options and Getting Paid
2. Play as you would a UK casino
3. Withdraw your winnings as you would a UK Casino
4. When purchasing chips, remember that although you are crediting your casino account with a $US playing balance, your credit card will actually be charged in £ UK. A very rough guide for currency conversion is that $1 is worth £0.65. So a deposit of, say, £100 will net you a balance of about $153. You can check up-to-date currency conversion rates at this site using our Currency Converter.
So far… very simple. The biggest questions comes when you want to withdraw your winnings. Most casinos refund your initial deposit back to your credit card and send the surplus in the form of a cheque. For example, let’s say you deposited £100 (about $153) and decide to cash out your winnings when you reach a balance of $1000 (about £650). Your initial deposit of £100/$153 will usually be refunded direct to your credit card. This leaves you with a balance of about £550/$847. Most casinos will send you a cheque for this amount.
What’s important to remember here is that just about every UK bank and building society will have no problem banking a $US cheque for you. There may be a small charge (check with your bank) and some building societies such as Alliance & Leicester can take anything up to a month to clear a foreign currency cheque. On the other side of the coin, some banks such as Natwest can actually clear the funds on a $US cheque quicker than they do with a £ UK cheque. Strange, but true…
So if you’ve been avoiding casinos which play in $US – don’t.
There’s a whole world you haven’t experienced yet.
